becoming mom

in late september we found out we were pregnant. in early january we found out we are pregnant with a little boy.

so far i've really enjoyed being pregnant with our firstborn...even with the sometimes uncomfortable ailments that growing a baby brings along.

we've already been blessed with many little gifts for our little man.

i can't wait for him to wear this outfit. even if he spits up all over it.

he's in there. and i love him already.

it's a crazy journey that began a few months ago and while we're anxious to meet him in just 4 short months, we're also in no hurry to jump into the parental routines.

it will be a change (and already has been) full of great joys and many trials. i become more ready to embrace it all as the days pass. as my belly and body morph, so do my heart and mind.

today i am grateful for our son-to-be.

birthday b.and.b

we spent the weekend together. doing whatever our hearts desired. it was a belated birthday celebration. it began with sleeping in and a lazy morning and a yummy homemade breakfst.
it continued with a field trip to eastern market downtown detroit.

we perused the yummy selection and bought some fresh produce to bring home.

we breathed in the crisp winter air and enjoyed the sunshine on our cheeks. it was a lovely saturday afternoon in detroit.

i enjoyed my birthday bed & breakfast surprise.
we stayed cozy inside by the fire. reading. movie watching. eating take out.

we strolled through historic downtown plymouth together popping in and out of whatever shops we pleased.

today i am grateful for birthday surprises and a husband who knows exactly what my heart delights in: cozy, comfortable, together.
